WEST POINT - Cullman County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) investigators on Thursday arrested multiple people for theft. Those arrested were Doris Ann Taylor, 44, of Hanceville, Sunny Kay McDonald, 40, of Cullman, Elijah Black McDonald, 22, of Cullman and Charles Winford Gable, 76, of Cullman.
Investigators executed two search warrants in the West Point community that lead to the arrests of the four suspects. Investigators had probable cause to believe that the suspects were involved in several burglaries, thefts, vehicle break-ins and forgeries of stolen checks.
After entering both residences, investigators discovered stolen checks and also found evidence from the thefts and burglaries the suspects allegedly committed.
CCSO investigators recovered golf clubs, two compound bows, fishing poles, skill saws and other miscellaneous items. Also seized were marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
“Anytime you can solve this many crimes and return property to its rightful owner, that’s a good day for everyone in the community,” said Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry. “I am proud of the job the investigators did in this case.”
Taylor was charged with third-degree illegal possession of a forged instrument.
Sunny McDonald was charged with third-degree forgery and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Elijah McDonald was charged with two counts of unlawful breaking and entering of a motor vehicle.
Gable was charged with second-degree theft of property and second-degree receiving stolen property.
All four suspects have made bond.
