Obituary: Donald Wayne Sanders

Donald Wayne Sandersinfo-icon was born September 25, 1946, to James and Reba Sanders in Natchez MS. Don is a veteran of the United States Navyinfo-icon where he served as an active duty medic during Marine maneuvers in the Vietnam War.

Don graduated from the University of Mississippiinfo-icon, where he served an athletic trainer for the football team. After graduating Ole Miss he obtained a masters of Nurse Anesthesia. He worked as a trainer for the Washington Redskinsinfo-icon of the National Football Leagueinfo-icon before accepting a position as a CRNA at Montclair Hospitalinfo-icon in Birmingham, Al. He retired as a CRNA from Cullman Regional Medical Centerinfo-icon. Don was passionate supporter of the Foundry Ministryinfo-icon where he was instrumental in organizing and maintaining the farm.

His talents were many, but he was considered an expert at the belly laugh. More than anything Don lived a life of love and laughter and taught us all the meaning of God's love.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Moss Funeral Home Chapel at 6 p.m. Graveside services will be on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Cullman City Cemeteryinfo-icon. Visitation will be on Thursday at Moss Funeral Home from 4:30 p.m. until service time at 6:00 P.M.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Sanders and Reba Burt Sanders of Natchez, MS and brother William Lloyd Sanders of Hattiesburg, MS. He is survived by his wife, Martha Martin Sanders of Cullman; brothers, Jim (Dot) Sanders and Charles (Barbara) Sanders; sister, Peggy Hill all of Natchez, MS; daughters, Kelly (Foster) Williamson of Birmingham, Kris (Nathan) Graves of Cullman and Courtney (Logan) Green: sons, Jeff (Meredith) Middlebrooks of Nashville, TN and Shane (Cassidy) Sanders; grandchildren, Camden and Kipton Sanders of Vinemont, Cale, Owen and Carolyn Graves of Cullman, Eliza and Thomas Middlebrooks of Nashville, TN and others. Don is also survived by a number of beloved nieces and nephews.
